What is the process of 'Authentication'?
This is a security and efficiency term, pertaining to the access gateway for technology, systems, data, networks, software and more. It represents a process of verification, permission and access, checking in for ‘originality’, match and origin for example, validating it as it were. It is a law of evidence of sorts.
It asks the question, is it ‘genuine’, what and whom it appears to be, real, right? (the source, origin and identity for example).
Through authentication or verification steps, protocols and processes, data, user, access, commands are all attested and searched as sufficient, identity what it is, should be? In the .NET Framework environment it is crucial to be verifying a user’s identity and authorization to access a network or its resources.
These process direct, monitor and effect user identity, access, source and identity, like user names and passwords. More accurately confirming these help identify who is allowed and who not. It determines if the user is authorized to access, change, edit, see, share and more.
Automated, pre-set and specified authentication processes, issuance and management of identify, certificates, credentials, confirming ‘true’ nature and identity, of someone or something, a computer or person for example.
